Home Floor Cleaning Equipment
Gone are the days when floor cleaning meant struggling with a mop and a pail of dirty water. Nowadays, there's a gadget for every floor surface. Take advantage of home floor cleaning equipment to make short work of keeping your floors clean. Does this Spark an idea?
-
Steam Mop
-
Steam mops clean and disinfect hard floors such as wood, laminate, tile and linoleum. One of the major benefits of steam-mopping floors is that the surface dries instantaneously. Most steam mops have an absorbent cloth pad that fits over the head to absorb soil loosened by the steam. The pads can be laundered and reused. Steam mops come in upright and canister styles.
Carpet Sweeper
-
Carpet sweepers have rotating brushes that flick surface dirt and lint off the carpet and into a dirt compartment in the head of the sweeper. Old-school reputation notwithstanding, carpet sweepers are still around because they're easier to use than vacuum cleaners are, they're great for spot sweeping, and they can significantly extend the time between vacuuming. Mechanical units are still available, but electronic models have brushes that rotate automatically and some have suction power.

Carpet Cleaner
-
Carpet cleaners look like super-powered vacuums. In a sense, that's what they are. The typical carpet cleaning machine sprays a cleaning solution onto the carpet as you push it forward, and it suctions up the fluid and dirt as you pull the machine back. Higher-end machines have rotating brushes that scrub carpets as the cleaning solution is released. Home carpet cleaners cost less over time than commercial carpet cleaning services, and owning a machine rather than renting one saves the trouble of lugging a large, heavy machine to and from the store or rental center. On the downside, home machines aren't as powerful or effective as those used by commercial services, so you'll still have to have your carpets professionally cleaned now and then.
