Specs on Blizzak Tires

Winter driving can be treacherous. Although many vehicles have antilock braking systems and traction control, these features aren't always enough to keep you safe when driving in snow and ice. Blizzak tires -- Bridgestone's winter-weather tires -- come in a range of sizes to support everything from a compact car to an SUV.

Studless Ice and Snow

The Studless series is for coupes, sedans, minivans and crossovers. Two general tires, the WS60 and WS70, are available, as well as Studless tires geared toward specific brands and models of vehicles. Depending on size, the WS60/WS70 carries an average of 1,500 lbs., inflates to a max of 44 to 50psi, and has an 11/32-inch- to 12/32-inch-deep tread.

Performance Winter/Snow Tires

This Perfomance series of Blizzak tires is geared toward smaller passenger vehicles. The low-end tire in this category, the LM-18, has a max load of 783 lbs. per tire, 44 psi top inflation pressure and a tread depth of 10/32 inches. The top-end performance tire, the LM-60, is for sports cars and luxury sedans. Depending on size, this tire carries 1,356 to 2,271 lbs., inflates to 50psi and has an 11/32-inch tread depth.

Multicell Technology

Bridgestone creates its Blizzak ice and snow tires using a patented Multicell technology, a rubber compound that exposes new pores which maintain handling as the tires wear.
