Does this Spark an idea?

  1. What is an H39 HID bulb?

    • This bulb is an HID bulb filled with mercury vapor. HID stands for high intensity discharge. These bulbs are designed for industrial light fixtures, for use in wet or hazardous environments such as ships or mines.

    Applications

    • H39 HID bulbs are designed for industrial-strength light fixtures for hazardous environments. These environments include: generally hazardous or remote locations, marine and wet environments, offshore oil and gas platforms, drill ships and exploration vessels, tankers and cargo ships, and drilling rigs, refineries, and petrochemical plants.

    Engineering and design elements

    • Industrial light fixtures are designed to withstand water and moisture exposure, as well as smoke and jarring shock. The filaments and glass in the bulbs for these fixtures, such as the mercury-vapor-filled H39 bulb, will resist shock-induced breakage. Bulbs such as these have long life ratings, and the H39 bulb is rated to last 24,000 hours before you have to replace it. The H39 is rated at 175 watts.
