Megan's Law was expanded in 2004 to provide online access to information about where sex offenders are living. Any member of the public can access the California Attorney General's website and search by name or zip code for convicted sex offenders.

What Information is Available Under Megan's Law?

If you search online to learn if any sex offenders live in your neighborhood, you will find information about the person and where the sex offender lives. The information includes: last known address, current address and what crimes were committed. Sometimes a photo of the person is provided.
