How to Find a MAC Address Filter
MAC address filtering security options are available on most wireless routers or access points. They are usually accessed via the device's web browser-based configuration screens.

MAC (Media Access Control) address filtering can be used as an extra level of security protection on wireless computer networks. MAC address filtering restricts wireless network access to specific computers only, by using the unique hardware MAC addresses of their wireless network cards.
Configuration
-
Router or wireless access point configuration screens are usually accessed via a Web browser, by typing a specific IP address into the address bar. Check your device's documentation for the correct address.
Usually found within the "security" or "encryption" section of the configuration menus, the MAC address filtering options will allow you to activate the filtering, and provide a list of MAC addresses of PCs permitted to join the wireless network. Computers not placed on the list will not be able to access the network.

Identification
-
To identify a MAC address, a label is often provided on a wireless adaptor card or on the base of a laptop with integrated wireless. Alternatively, it is usually possible to find out the MAC address from within your operating system --- do this by accessing your IP configuration through the command prompt.
