Nontraditional Grants
Nontraditional grants are grants set aside and acquired in a nontraditional manner. You can be awarded nontraditional scholarships or grants on the basis of several criteria: physicality, talent, charity, unusual ability and sport.

Grants can be conferred according to physicality. Examples include the short (Little People of America Association and Billy Barty Foundation), the tall (The Tall Club's International Scholarship: $1,000), the twins (The Twin/Triplet or Multiples Scholarships), the left-handed (Frederick and Mary F. Beckley Scholarship), the weighty (National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance Scholarship), the red-haired and the blue-eyed.

The Women in Apprenticeship and Nontraditional Occupations grant program helps sponsor women who are in involved in a traditionally male-dominated trade. Likewise, the American Assembly for Men in Nursing grants men the opportunity to advance in the field of nursing, where they are underrepresented. Other nontraditional incentive programs also provide the resources to enter whichever field people prefer without gender prejudice.
