British Airways Carry-on Regulations

As of December 2010, British Airways allows passengers to bring one piece of hand baggage as well as a handbag or laptop for no extra charge. Size limits apply to these items.

Features

Hand baggage must measure 22 inches by 18 inches by 10 inches or smaller. Laptops or handbags must measure 18 inches by 14 inches by 8 inches or smaller. Laptops or handbags must fit underneath the seat in front of you on the airplane.

Considerations

Hand baggage regulations may vary on flights with British Airways' partner airlines, such as American Airlines, Comair and Sunair of Scandinavia. Always check with the operating airline to avoid excess baggage fees.

Prohibited Items

British Airways does not permit passengers to bring explosives, flammable gas cylinders, corrosive or toxic materials, oxidizing materials or any flammable substances. Restrictions on liquids in hand baggage vary, depending on which country you depart from.
