What is the Proper Care of a Peace Lily?
Peace lilies are house plants commonly cultivated for their lush, dark green leaves and their crisp white flowers. Peace lilies require little maintenance and will thrive with proper care. Does this Spark an idea?
-
Soil
-
Grow peace lilies in a well-draining potting soil mix that is moist, but not soggy or waterlogged. Allow soil to dry out in between waterings. Soil that is too moist may cause root rot.
Light
-
Peace lilies prefer bright indoor locations, though they will also tolerate low light levels. Avoid placing the plant in an extremely bright, hot location, as this may burn the foliage and flowers.
-
Warmth
-
Peace lilies are tropical natives that prefer warm, humid conditions. Daytime temperatures should range between 68 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit, while nighttime temperatures may be as low as 10 degrees cooler. Mist occasionally with warm, lime- free water to increase humidity.
