How Electric Clay Throwers Work

Throwers can often be activated by the shooter or by a second.

For shooting or marksmanship enthusiasts, clay or skeet shooting may be an enjoyable and challenging sport. One of the principle devices needed is the electric target thrower.

Function

An electric clay thrower provides for target release in skeet or clay pigeon shooting. The clay piece is mounted in the device and then launched into the air on a trajectory, height or distance predetermined by the operator.

Features

The power is usually provided by extension cords. The shooter will typically have a port for the cables, which is adaptable to most types of cord. If you are near your home or structure, the power can be routed from there. However, if all you have is your vehicle, you may need a generator in order to power the clay shooter.

Throwing

Many clay shooters are relatively simple devices that employ a single throwing arm. Often, the arm will be manufactured out of steel to ensure longevity and throwing consistency. The shooter will include a release mechanism, perhaps in a foot pedal, with which the operator can initiate the launching of the disc. Different models may have options for single or multiple throws, the latter being patterned in certain time-oriented intervals.
