Both the V6 and V8 Camaro feature aggressive styling.

Chevrolet offered 2010 models of its Camaro sports car with both V6 and V8 engine configurations. While both cars sport similar aggressive looks, they differ considerably in cost, performance and options.

  1. Cost

    • In a 2010 article, the automotive magazine Car and Driver listed the V6 Camaro at around $23,000. The same article quoted a price of at least $31,000 for the V8 model, though features and options on both cars can cause the price to vary considerably.

    Fuel Efficiency

    • According to the Chevrolet official website, the V6 Camaro gets 17 miles per gallon in the city and 29 on the highway. In contrast, the V8 Camaro gets 16 miles per gallon in the city and only 24 on the highway. Both cars include a 19 gallon fuel tank.

    Performance

    • Car and Driver praised the V6 Camaro's ability to go from zero to 60 miles per hour in 5.9 seconds with a 304 horsepower engine; the V6 also ran a quarter mile in 14.5 seconds at 99 miles per hour. In contrast, the higher performance V8 Camaro accelerates from zero to 60 in 4.6 seconds and completes a quarter mile run in 13 seconds at 111 miles per hour.

    Options

    • Chevrolet offers a number of options for both V6 and V8 Camaros. Some options, like the Boston Acoustics premium sound system, are available only on the V8 models.
