National Fire Academy Photography Training

The National Fire Academy trains students to effectively deal with fires and similar emergencies. It is part of the United States Fire Administration and offers different courses and diverse delivery systems for the students.

  1. Photography Training

    • The National Fire Academy (NFA) offers many courses related to fire safety and emergencies. They do not specifically offer photography training. Some of the courses and programs, including the Arson Training Facility, include photographing evidence and the scene. This is weaved into the specific programs for the specialty you pursue.

    Courses

    • A variety of courses are offered in a flexible setting at the NFA. They offer on- and off-campus programs in addition to independent study. To take on-campus courses, you must have completed Incident Command System 100 and 200 level training. Prerequisites for other programs vary. The National Fire Academy does not charge for their courses. The courses generally run one to two weeks.

    History

    • The National Fire Academy was started in 1975, after the Federal Fire Prevention and Control Act of 1974 was signed into law. It has created a stronger training program for students who are going into or employed in fire safety occupations.
