Where Can I Get Grant Money to Build a House?

Home construction grants are offered through government agencies.

HUD Grants

EPA Grants

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency offers grant programs to aid in the building of "green" home. Funds must be used to build a house that meets the environmental and energy efficient standards detailed by the agency or grant terms. The agency often partners with both nonprofit organizations and commercial entities to offer funds for residential housing creation.

USDA Grants

The U.S. Department of Agriculture offers rural housing guaranteed loans and grant funds to low-income areas. Recipients must meet the low- to moderate-income guidelines to qualify for housing grants. The homes must be built or rehabilitated in rural areas.
