How to Decorate a Kid's Playroom
Give your child a place to play by designating one of the rooms in your home as a playroom. Design the playroom so that your child will enjoy spending time in the room playing alone or with friends. Does this Spark an idea?

Walls
-
Choose bright colors such as yellow, green and blue to paint the entire playroom or use a combination of yellow on one wall and blue on another, for example. You may also paint one wall in a bright color and leave the rest of the room white or simply paint the entire room white. Take note that water-based paint is easier to clean and it's advisable to use paint that is non-toxic and which has low odor. Using kid-themed wallpaper is also an option.
Floors
-
To avoid getting hurt in a playroom, use carpet in the entire room. If that's not possible, place large, soft area rug in the room. Additionally, foam activity mats usually with alphabets or numbers printed on them, may also be placed on the floor for a soft area to play on. It's ideal to choose rugs that can be easily cleaned since chances are that kids will accidentally spill things on the floor.

Furniture
-
Use kid-sized tables and chairs where children can sit comfortably and play games, color or create crafts. Decorate with bright, colorful beanbags as well as kid-sized arm chairs and even a kid-sized sofa. Choose furniture that can be easily wiped clean. You may also want to include adult-sized chairs so you can be comfortable while watching the children play. Install a wall-mounted bookcase for your child's safety.
Accessories
-
Fill the playroom with many toys, books, art supplies and other things that will keep your child busy. Use plastic storage bins or wicker baskets for storing small items and things that may not have a permanent place. You may also want to place a wall-mounted television in the room where kids can watch their favorite shows.
