Shaking in the front end of a 2003 Honda Accord will happen for several reasons. This can sometimes be an easy fix, or it could end up being costly and time-consuming.

  1. Tires

    • Tires that are off balance, whether because of hitting curbs or encountering large holes in the road, can be a problem. Tires can be balanced at any tire store for about $10 per tire. A flat spot in a tire will also cause shaking that usually requires a new tire to remedy.

    Brakes and Rotors

    • Brakes and rotors that wear unevenly will cause shaking problems. In this case, brakes and rotors will need to be replaced. Sometimes you can save money by turning the rotors instead replacing them with new ones if the rotors are not worn too badly.

    CV Joints

    • Constant Velocity (CV) joints are located on the left and right end of the front axle. Similar to a ball and socket joint, a CV joint connects the axle apparatus to the front brake system. If the CV joints are damaged or worn down, shaking may occur. The only fix to this is to replace the CV joints. If the CV joints are not replaced, eventually the vehicle will not be able to turn, and the tire could loosen or come off while driving.
