Floating Arrangements

Floating candles and flowers make a dramatic statement. Use a clear bowl if the arrangement will be viewed primarily from a lower angle, as the candlelight will make the whole bowl glow. An opaque bowl will contain the glow and is best viewed from above. Create the arrangement by filling the bowl about halfway with water and placing floating candles and a selection of closely-trimmed flower heads on the water's surface.
Pillar Candle and Flower Ring

Toothpicks make it easy to cover a foam ring with fresh flower heads. Hold a flower to the foam and insert a pick through the flower and into the foam to hold the flower in place. Cover the entire surface of the foam ring. Place it on a mirror tile and center a pillar candle inside.

Glass Jar Candle

Create a flower and candle decoration from an apothecary-style jar. When the plastic underside of the jar lid is pried off, there's room in the hollow glass top for flowers. A small pillar or votive candle can be hot-glued to the bottom of the jar or stabilized with sand, stones, shells or glass beads. For an added touch, use flowers in the same color as the candle.
