Coconut palms thrive in Southern Florida, Hawaii and the US territories of Guam, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. They are also sometimes found in some southern parts of Texas and Central Florida -- at the ends of their preferred climate zones.

Coconut palms are found in the country of Oman. With the aid of irrigation, they are also grown in parts of the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.

Coconut palms are found in the frost-free areas of Africa, such as Southern Africa and Eastern Africa. Cape Town in South Africa boasts beaches lined with coconut palms.

Abundant amounts of coconut palms are found north of 27 degrees south latitude. This includes the northern tip of South America and many Central American countries.
