What Is a Brighthouse DVR Smartbox?

A BrightHouse DVR Smartbox is a digital video recording device that connects to your television and receives your cable signal. If you subscribe to a digital cable service, your BrightHouse DVR Smartbox can record television programs, pause live TV broadcasts and rewind live TV.

Record Television Programs

The DVR Smartbox only works with one television at a time. However, the DVR Smartbox will let you record up to two channels at one time.

Pause Live TV

You will be able to pause a TV show for up to one hour. If you are also using a picture in picture viewing, then you can also pause that show for up to one hour.

Rewind Live TV

You will be able to rewind a television show for however long you have been on that channel. For example, if you are on channel "A" and then change to channel "B," you can no longer rewind channel "A." Also, you won't be able to rewind channel "B" until you have spent time watching that channel.
