Information on Corner Sink Kitchen Cabinets

Information on Corner Sink Kitchen Cabinets thumbnail
A corner kitchen sink can leave an awkward space for cabinets.

A corner sink can save space in your kitchen, but it also creates an awkward area. The cupboard beneath the sink has to accommodate the plumbing, and unless the counter is very deep, there usually isn't room for a cupboard above the sink. But there are ways to use this space effectively. Does this Spark an idea?

  1. Pull-Out Shelf

    • Instead of wasting the space under your sink, install a pull-out shelf beneath the plumbing if there is room. That is a convenient spot to store cleaning and dish washing supplies. If that cabinet is deep and awkward to reach, put things you don't use often at the back.

    Lazy Susan

    • If your cupboard has plumbing toward the back, there could be room for a lazy susan under the sink. This shelf rotates so you can store more items, but still find them easily. Store closed items in containers under the sink so if there is a leak in the pipe, you will not have to throw out ruined food.

    Behind the Sink

    • If you have extra space behind your sink, install open shelves instead of a bulky cupboard so you don't waste the space. Spices you use regularly or utensils are convenient to store here.
