Can a Wireless Bridge Pick Up a Neighbor's Internet?

From home to commercial locations, wireless networks are becoming more and more prevalent. With the numerous connectivity options, there is also a wide range of questions like whether or not you would be able to utilize a neighbor's network.

Wireless Bridge

A wireless bridge is piece of hardware that is used to connect two separate networks. It is a way to expand a network over a greater distance without using wires. A bridge can pick up any wireless network broadcast.

Wireless Network Signal

In order for someone to have a wireless network, he will need a modem to connect to the network and a router to disperse the signal throughout a defined coverage area. The type of router being used will determine how strong the signal is and how far it will transmit.

Neighbor's Wireless Network

A bridge can pick up your neighbor's wireless network as long as the signal from the router is strong enough to transmit to your bridge's location. You may also need the appropriate log-in credentials if the network is encrypted.
