HVAC Training in Lubbock, TX

The choices for heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) programs, sometimes referred to as HVAC&R because they also cover refrigeration are relatively limited in the Lubbock area. Only South Plains College offers an HVAC certification program.

  1. Program Details

    • The HVAC certificate program in Lubbock is offered over four semesters with a course load between 16 and 19 hours per semester. In addition to theory and practical core classes in heating and refrigeration, students are required to take an English composition course and one humanities course during their program.

    Certification

    • Upon completion of the course, students will be certified to work on residential and commercial heating and air conditioning units, including installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of major equipment. Students also qualify for an associate of applied science degree and students can use the credits toward further education if they desire.

    Location

    • The HVAC degree is offered at South Plains College's main campus in Levelland, just 25 minutes west of Lubbock. The campus offers residence halls and on-campus apartments for students as well as traditional college activities, such as athletics, for students.
