The Sharp LC-26SH10U has limitations on what it can do.

Sharp marketed the LC-26SH10U LCD television as an affordable LCD HD-TV around 2007. The television one is subject to the same types of problems which all LCD televisions can encounter.

  1. Faulty Pixels

    • Seeing a black spot LCD television is a common sign of pixel problems. Over time the pixels in your LCD television may burn out. That will cause a black spot or a flickering to appear on your screen. The cost of replacing the screen most of the time exceeds the original cost of the unit.

    Banding

    • Noticing a dark spot or area on your Sharp LCD TV is the first sign of banding. Banding occurs when your television has a problem lighting up a certain area of the screen. That can happen if the back light on the LCD is old or about to burn out. Most of the time the back lights on the television can be replaced. However, on some models the back light can not be replaced and you'll have to replace the entire television.

    Check Your Warranty

    • Check to see if your television is still covered under warranty. Most of the time the manufacturer will either have your unit fixed or they will replace the unit with a new one. Knowing the warning signs of a failing LCD Television will allow you to take a proactive approach to maintaining your unit.
