Helmet to Helmet Communications for Motorcycles
A helmet can protect your face from bugs and other unpleasant things during an uneventful ride and from severe damage during a crash. Unfortunately, when a helmet protects you, it makes it impractical to shout to your fellow riders. Thankfully, technology comes to the rescue.
-
Ease of Use
-
Cell phone technology offers an alternative communication tool to radio. Helmets can be equipped for wireless, hands-free communication with riders a few feet away or miles ahead of you.
Effectiveness
-
Whether you chose a system radio or phone system, consider where and how you will be using it. It may be great to ride through miles of undeveloped land, but don't expect cell service.
-
Safety
-
Ultimately, the purpose of a motorcycle helmet is safety. A properly equipped helmet will let you hear output from the speakers as well as the noise from your surroundings. It may seem like a quick and inexpensive fix to use an earphone under your helmet, but it could prevent you from hearing oncoming danger.
