Recycling-Revolution's website claims the plastic packaging thrown into the ocean is killing up to one million sea creatures every year.

According to Earth911's website, by recycling plastic packaging, we can decrease pollution and greenhouse gases, as well as conserve energy and natural resources. According to Reuseit.com, more and more people are recycling plastic packaging, with the amount of discarded plastic PET bottles falling from 2,140,000 tons in 2007 to 1,950,000 tons in 2008.
