What to Do for Your First Anniversary as a Couple

Your first anniversary is the first big milestone in your married life. The traditions you begin when you celebrate your first anniversary will likely last well into your marriage, so think carefully about what you want to do together as a couple.

Remember the Wedding

The first anniversary is a prime time to reflect on the wedding. Look through the wedding photos, read through the guest book and watch the wedding video if you have one. If you saved the top of the cake, eat it together at home or at the reception site if it is nearby.

Spend Time Together

You are probably still recovering from the financial strain of a wedding, honeymoon and setting up a house together, so choose a relatively inexpensive activity to celebrate your first anniversary together. Make a romantic meal at home, go out for dinner at a restaurant that you enjoyed while you were dating or spend a day in a beautiful setting and enjoy a picnic.
