Check the label of the drapes first and determine if they're machine washable. Also, check the size of the drapes against the size of your washing machine and only clean if they fit comfortably in the machine.
Cleaning

Set your washing machine to the gentle or delicate cycle and add your drapes to warm water. Use a laundry detergent designed for delicate fabrics; once clean, dry on the lowest setting. Spot clean the drapes later with a handheld vacuum cleaner.

Do not put pleated drapes, faded drapes or drapes with embellishments in the washing machine. Even the soft agitation of the machine on its lowest cycle can damage the fabric.
