Hardware Repair
-
Repairing hardware almost entirely consists of replacing parts, because the hardware is made of intricate circuity that is not designed for end users to work on. It is even beyond the scope of most computer technicians to repair. Thankfully, many individual pieces of hardware can be bought for around a hundred dollars, though high end hardware can easily cost more. If you are on a low budget the cheaper hardware will easily do the job for most applications..

Manufacturers of operating systems, especially Windows and other software applications, will offer newer versions and updates to the older versions to fix problems and add capabilities. These often can be downloaded directly from the manufacturer's website

Troubleshooting
-
Repairing computers is mostly a matter of deductive troubleshooting, where you narrow down one or more possible issues at a time. If for example, your screen goes black, you might check the monitor cable, try another monitor and then perhaps reseat the video card. You may have to replace the monitor or the video card, or even reinstall the operating system. Each time, you narrow the problem down from a list of possible culprits until you find what is causing the problem.
