Deep Cycle Battery Information
Of the two main kinds of lead acid batteries, a deep cycle battery is the one with the lesser amount of immediate energy. However, it supplies a greater amount of energy over the long haul than a cranking battery would.

Types
-
Solar and RV, as well as marine batteries all fall under the deep cycle category. There are also different types of deep cycle batteries, such as Gel and AGM, which stands for Absorbed Glass Mat.
Maintenance
-
To maintain a deep cycle battery, keep the battery clean, as most instances of battery problems are due to the ill effects of dirt and corrosion. Also, try not to over discharge the battery, as this can lessen it's life expectancy.
-
Replacement
-
The first step in figuring out if a deep cycle battery needs to be replaced is by checking it's charge. Failure to charge is a key indication that you need another battery, as well as if the battery charges but fails to maintain it's voltage.
