Backsplash Solutions
If you're making some decorative adjustments to your kitchen, it's a good idea to add a backsplash. The backsplash will keep your kitchen walls from being damaged from food and grease stains, and can also give the space a burst of color or contrast in wall texture. Does this Spark an idea?

Size
-
The size of the backsplash should coordinate with the size of the wall you're treating. For instance, if you're installing a backsplash in the small wall space above your stove, tiny or medium-sized designs are best. If you're covering a large kitchen or a long strip of wall space, i.e. underneath the cabinets, a bigger backsplash will be necessary to shield the wall.
Types
-
Choose from several materials when designing your backsplash. Tile is the material most commonly used for backsplashes due to its color variety and affordability; glass and marble are especially decorative choices, and tend to be more expensive. Tin material is also a possible choice for backsplashes, since the material is easy to clean and tolerates hot temperatures well.

Considerations
-
In order to make the backsplash especially decorative, you can have mosaic artwork featured in the middle of the backsplash in the kitchen's theme or your family's monogram. It's also a good idea to mix suitable materials, such as tile and glass of varying colors, to make an appealing backsplash that is functional and eye-catching.
