Why Won't Flash Work Properly on My Computer

Flash is a type of software platform that allows for video, audio and animation. It was designed for the Web and runs more efficiently than standard video files. For Flash to work, however, you must have some type of Flash software installed.

- Flash regularly comes out with newer versions, and Flash programs may be designed to work only with the new software. You can get the latest software update for free from the Adobe Flash site (see the Resources section for a link).
Conflict
- Flash could be conflicting with another program or might not be working because it never finished installing correctly. Close other programs and try again. Reinstall Flash to try to resolve the problem.
Browser
- Flash works from within your Web browser. Some browsers may not support Flash, or at least not the newest version. Try another Web browser to resolve the problem.
