Not all cruiselines require double occupancy when booking.

Many single people don't inquire about a cruise because they aren't sure if single occupancy is allowed. Some cruise lines allow you to book as a single, however you will pay a higher per person rate than those choosing double occupancy. Cruises to the Hawaiian Islands follow the same protocol for singles as cruises to any other destination.

Singles Cruises

Singles cruises are booked on certain ships in groups with the main purpose of meeting other single people. Your room options are having a roommate assigned to you or your own private cabin for a higher price.

Single Supplements

The single supplement rate for traveling on a cruise and having your own room can be higher than the normal cost per person. Most single supplements are 150 percent to 200 percent of the lowest price per person available when you book your cruise. Occasionally, cruise ships offer discounts for single travelers.

Single Share

The single share program is offered on some ships for those who want to travel alone but not pay the additional costs. You are paired with another single person of the same sex and smoking preference to room with on the cruise. If a match is not available, you have the cabin to yourself at no additional charge.
