Associate in Risk Management Training
Associate in Risk Management -- or ARM -- training is offered online at Agent Broker Training Center, The Insurance Educational Association and at the Asian Risk Management Institute. After training, individuals must take three exams to earn the ARM credential.

Curriculum

Three main courses are offered in ARM training: Essentials in Risk Management, Essentials of Risk Control and Risk Financing. The risk management course enhances knowledge of the legalities of liability loss exposures, net income loss exposures, assessing property liability, corporate governance and cash flow analysis. The risk control course provides knowledge of criminal loss exposures, claim administration, system safety, risk control activities and intellectual property loss exposures. The risk financing course provides an understanding of forecasting accidental losses, self-insurance plans, insurance plan design and non-insurance contractual transfer of risk. For the public sector, the Agent Broker Training Center offers a risk management course for public entities that focuses on risk management in government, including claim and litigation management, pooling and disaster planning.

The Insurance Educational Association offers classroom training in various locations in California for approximately $459 and online courses cost approximately $350. Agent Broker Training Center prices the three main courses at $295 for each course or $750 for a bundle of all three courses. The Asian Risk Management Institute offers all three courses starting at $1,470 -- including online study groups and mock exams.
