Strange Facts About Lily Flowers
Lilies are common to many regions and recognized by their large open flowers. The Easter lily is perhaps the most recognizable flower in this family, with 95 percent grown in a coastal region in the western United States. Edible Flower

The daylily is an edible flower, and one flower for which the unopened bulb is also edible. Eating this flower needs moderation, though, as it can act like a diuretic or laxative.
Adverse Features

Lilies are particularly dangerous to cats. The flower causes kidney failure due to the lily's toxicity level. Cats can suffer effects after drinking water from lily pots, chewing or biting the plant and licking pollen from their fur. While not deadly, cats often need treatment.

Asparagus falls into the classification of the lily family, along with garlic, leeks and onions.
