Defog Solution for Safety Glasses

Safety glasses fogging up can be prevented.

Many companies require workers to wear safety glasses while performing their daily work duties. Protective eye wear fogging is a common problem. There are several solutions available designed to prevent eyeglass fogging.

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) reports that more than 2,000 work-related eye injuries occur each day in the United States. The workers name eyeglass fogging as the number one reason for not wearing the required eye protection, according to "Accident Analysis and Prevention Magazine."

Defog Solution

Clarity Defog It produces a solution it claims prevents safety glasses from fogging. The solution is available in towelette and liquid forms. The solution also prevents face shields and high-tech lenses from fogging according to the manufacturer.

Performance

One application of Clarity Defog can prevent eyeglasses from fogging for the entire day according to the company. In one test, treated lenses were held over hot steam for 60 minutes without fogging. Similar defog products that were tested failed within five minutes after being exposed to the hot steam according to Clarity Defog.
