Tektronix 2230 Vs. 2235

Oscilloscopes tell a lot about the internal workings of an electronic device.

Oscilloscopes are electronic test equipment that analyze electrical signal pulses by illustrating their waveforms on a screen. The detailed information provided by the oscilloscope depends on the specifications of the oscilloscope itself.

Types

Tektronix offers many types of oscilloscopes with varying options, depending on the user's needs for the instrument. Both the models 2230 and 2235 come from the same family of 2200 oscilloscopes, but with a few differences.

Features

Both models work off of a 100-MHz bandwidth but have different capture rates. The 2230 functions on a 100-nanosecond capture rate, whereas the 2235 is much faster, at 5 nanoseconds. If viewing the same waveform on both models, the 2235 would show much more detail of a captured energy form and give more information on its variances.

Significance

The 2235 has a higher resolution of a CRT screen, making it easier for a technician to view multiple waveforms over the course of a work day.
