Business telephone systems.

Avaya is a telecommunications company that offers systems to meet a wide range of business needs. The 4400 series of digital telephones includes the 4424D set, that has a display screen, standard (or fixed) feature keys and 24 line buttons.

  1. Line Buttons

    • The line buttons are designated as white keys that are located throughout the face of the telephone. Each one of the line buttons can be programmed with a feature by your company's system administrator; or programmed by you if that option has been made available through the system administrator. Even though the features that are programmed on the line buttons can vary, at least 3 of the line buttons are designated as phone lines.

    Multiple Phone Lines

    • No matter how many phone lines you have, if you are on one call and another call comes in, it will automatically roll to the next open line. To answer the subsequent calls, place your caller on hold by depressing the red "Hold" button on the left side of your dial pad; and then press the next line that you would like to answer.

    Display Screen and Standard Features

    • Your display screen will show the extension and name of internal callers; the name and/or telephone number for external callers. Additional features can also be programmed within your display. Your standard features are located on the left side of your dial pad, which include "Speaker," "Mute," "Conference," "Transfer," "Redial" and "Hold."
