Fast Track Welder Training

Fast Track Welding (Fast Track) is a fabrication company based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Its workers mold together metal and steel parts using tools and equipment that generate extreme heat. Fast Track welders adjoin parts used for machinery, building frames and an array of other manufacturing products. Fast Track employees can be trained in a variety of ways.

  1. Education

    • Fast Track welders are required to possess a high school diploma, or at least the GED equivalent. And while not required, some attend vocational colleges that specialize in welding to receive further training and sharpen their skills. Welders applying for a job at Fast Track should focus on schooling in chemistry, physics, shop, blueprint reading and mathematics.

    Certification

    • Fast Track welders can receive additional training (and perhaps increase their chances of promotion) by obtaining certification. Programs that offer certification vary, but generally last anywhere from several days to a few weeks, and consist of coursework and testing. These programs are made available by everything from professional organizations to community colleges.

    On the Job

    • Most Fast Track Welding employees receive their best training after taking a job with the company. Not only do welders get hands-on experience under the guidance of supervisors and more experienced workers, but are taught about the company's mission and policies.
