Can You Align Items Scanned Into OneNote?

OneNote is a Microsoft Office program designed for maintaining a desktop version of a notebook. It consolidates project information through text entries, tables and uploaded materials such as pictures or scanned items.

  1. Scanned Items

    • OneNote has an option under the "Insert" menu named "Scanner Printout." This option triggers your scanner and uploads the image on the scanner bed.

    Align Items Scanned

    • Right-click on an image in OneNote and select "Rotate." This allows the image to rotate clockwise or counterclockwise in 90-degree increments, as well as to flip vertically or horizontally. If your image needs to rotate between 0 and 90 degrees to be aligned, the item should be repositioned on the scanner and imported again.

    Item Order Adjustments

    • Items are also able to be aligned in terms of their position relative to other items. Right-click on an image and click "Order" to "Bring forward," "Bring to front," "Send backward," or "Send to back." This feature allows you to let one scanned item overlap another based on your choice, not an upload order.

    Moving Items

    • If you have a scanned item that you want to align with a particular block of text or a graph, click on the item and drag it to any part of the OneNote document.
