Security Issues
-
In the past, security issues have been reported with QuickTime. Vulnerability issues may include malicious software attached to a video link. Both Windows and OS X versions of QuickTime were affected by these system vulnerabilities. Getting the latest update of QuickTime will help ensure that security problems are reduced or eliminated.
Upgrades
-
According to MogMachine, the Snow Leopard upgrade included a upgrade from QuickTime 7 to QuickTime X. Although the updated version of QuickTime included some newer features such as full-screen view and recording, it eliminated other features such as basic editing capabilities.

Compatibility Mode
-
If QuickTime is set to run in Windows in the "Compatibility Mode" setting, it may produce an error code. Turn off Compatibility Mode by going to the "Preferences" tab under QuickTime and disabling the feature by unchecking all of the boxes on the compatibility settings.
