There are many programs and services available for those wanting to be an autism clinician trainer.

A variety of autism-related training programs are offered throughout the United States, Canada and through international universities. Training provides autism clinician trainers with the skills and knowledge to effectively instruct and prepare others to work with individuals with autism.

  1. Application Process

    • An application form generally is required to be filled out. In addition, a resume, cover letter and letter of recommendation written by an independent trainer may be necessary.

    Fees

    • At the University of Michigan, the cost of a program in 2011 was about $1,800, which included a $50, nonrefundable registration fee. Fees will vary depending on the scope of the program.

    Prerequisites

    • Most programs require you to have completed prior advanced training programs and have prior education in the autism field.

    Warning

    • There may be a waiting list for the program you desire to enroll in. Contact the university if you want to be considered for future autism clinician training.
