Non Toxic Grout Cleaning
The grout between tiles often serves as a catchall for mold, mildew, dirt and grime. Cleaning grout can be difficult, causing many homeowners to turn to chemical-filled cleaners. Household hydrogen peroxide is a non-toxic alternative to chemical cleaners. Does this Spark an idea?

Effectiveness
-
Hydrogen peroxide is made up of hydrogen and oxygen atoms. When hydrogen releases its second oxygen atom, the remaining atom effectively removes stains without being abrasive, according to DIY columnist Tim Carter of the Ask the Builder website.
Usage
-
Fill a spray bottle with 1 part of hydrogen peroxide and 2 parts water, suggests the Earth Easy website. Spray on to the grout and let it sit for at least one hour. Rinse off with clean water.

Alternatives
-
Sometimes, hydrogen peroxide does not release its oxygen atoms, making it less effective. Oxygen bleach is a less common, but perhaps more effective, non-toxic product, according to Tim Carter.
