Garlands
-
String any of a variety of objects on fishing line to make unique garlands to decorate the Christmas tree. Traditional garlands include popcorn, cranberries and dried fruit. Some modern alternatives include packing peanuts, beads, doughnut-shaped cereal pieces and loops of ribbon.
Dough Ornaments
-
Chop five slices of white bread in a food processor and mix in a bowl with 1 tbsp. of white glue to make a smooth dough. Roll the dough out with a rolling pin and use cookie cutters to make Christmas shapes. Poke a hole in the top of each ornament, let them dry overnight and decorate them with markers, paint and other craft supplies. Hang the ornaments with ribbon.

Wire Ornaments
-
Bend 18-gauge craft wire into a Christmas shape such as a star, tree or snowman. Also include a 1/4-inch loop in the outline so you can thread ribbon through later to hang the ornament. Twist 20- to 24-gauge wire around and through the middle of the shape to fill it in and create a decorative design.
