Mining Equipment Training

While many work behind desks in cubicles, miners work among the world's largest and most dangerous pieces of equipment. As such, it is necessary that miners are properly trained in equipment operation.

Interactive Exercises

The Mine Safety and Health Administration has provided a variety of interactive training exercises to instruct proper operation of mining equipment and machinery. Provided modules include downloadable lessons, presentations and online quizzes that may be administered.

Equipment Simulation Programs

Computer programs that simulate mining equipment may be purchased for risk-free training of miners. These programs place trainees in the cab with full reign of equipment while removing any worry of injury or property damage.

Practice and Observation

Direct instruction on equipment may also be administered. Miners may observe tasks that an experienced operator completes. Trainees must then be observed practicing operation of equipment themselves. Training will be deemed sufficient when a trainee completes in a safe and healthy manner.
