How do I Fix a Moped?

A moped is a motorized bicycle.

Mopeds are motorized bicycles that also have pedals, allowing the rider the option of pedaling or not. Fixing a broken moped varies in difficulty depending on the problem and your level of mechanical knowledge.

Troubleshooting

You need to figure out exactly what the problem is before attempting to fix the moped. For example, if the engine won't turn over but electrical instruments and lights work, the battery works, but the engine may be having problems.

When shopping for repair parts, try finding something for your specific moped make and model instead of a general part to ensure the best compatibility. Engine Repair

A common problem with motorized vehicles is engine failure. Moped engines need three vital things to work, compression, fuel and a spark.
