An advantage of using gas, coal and oil to produce electricity is their relatively low cost and potential for mass production. Most of the fossil fuels emit carbon (IV) oxide gas that depletes the ozone layer. This allows ultra violent rays to penetrate into the earth causing skin cancer and other diseases.
Non-Fossil Fuel Large Scale Producers

Non-fossil fuel large scale producers include the hydroelectric power systems and the geothermal. They minimize greenhouse effect as there is minimal carbon (IV) oxide emitted. It is also possible to produce electricity at a constant rate once the motors and dams have been built. A con is that they use a large space thus forcing unwilling relocation of local residents. If they are built on a woody area they increase the greenhouse effect due to the massive clearance of trees.

Non-Fossil Small Scale Producers

Small scale producers are the electricity producing sites that generate electricity in small quantities like wind turbines. The use of these generators does not produce radioactive pollution or generate waste, thus considered environmentally friendly. They also don't consume the non-renewable resources like coal. Their disadvantage is that the turbines used are a cause of noise pollution to the local residents.
