A vending license can earn you some extra cash.

New York City alone has over 9,000 vendors on their streets. From corn dogs to designer handbags, a licensed vendor can distribute various types of items while making cash in the process.

  1. Types

    • There are several types of vending licenses that may be applied for, and the rules and regulations associated with them typically vary based on location. In Ohio, a few types are the transient, service and delivery vendor's license.

    Costs

    • The amount you pay for a vending license can be determined by the amount of time that your vending license is good for. In Maryland, as of 2010, the total cost for a one-day license would be a little more than $200, and include application and operator fees. A one-year vending license, with fees included, is nearly $500.

    Restrictions

    • There are often several restrictions associated with being a licensed vendor. Restricted territory is property and locations that are off limits to vendors. In Boston, this territory includes all residential areas.
