Construction Auditing Training
Construction auditing is the examination of the accounts of a building developer or company to verify the validity of the given figures. Auditing training is necessary for accounting staff in construction companies, various governmental bodies and employees in independent auditing companies.
-
Types
-
An audit can be required by a construction company's management or by an official authority, including the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and federal or local governmental business grant programs. Internal audits required by management are usually performed by the construction company's trained accounting team. Government bodies usually appoint an independent auditing firm to perform an audit, but can send their own accountants to perform on-site audits.
Features
-
Before training as an construction auditor, applicants are required to have training and work experience as accountants within the industry. Courses are mainly provided by independent auditing firms working for the construction trade. Course topics include preparation of control schedules, reconciliation, labor and materials accounting, equipment costs, third-party supplies, insurance and quality controls.
