You can use borax to kill yard fleas.

Although it is impossible to completely kill every flea in your yard, there are some treatments you can use to reduce the number of fleas. One such treatment option is borax. Does this Spark an idea?

  1. What is Borax?

    • Borax is found in many cleaning products and can be found for purchase in your local grocery store's cleaning-supply aisle. Borax dehydrates the fleas and in turn causes them to die.

    Application

    • Borax is effective just by sprinkling it over you yard. Use a hand trowel to distribute it. Then use a rake to move it throughout the vegetation in your yard. New applications need to be applied after rain or yard watering.

    Safety Concerns

    • Borax is safe for use in and around your home, but should not be consumed. To avoid accidental ingestion, keep it away from food sources, pets and children. You should also take care to avoid inhalation or getting it in your eyes, both which could cause irritation.
