Can I Have Multiple Dental Plans?

Can I Have Multiple Dental Plans? thumbnail
Don't pay out of pocket for your smile.

Finding a job with benefits isn't easy these days. If you have a good dental plan, teeth cleanings and basic procedures are affordable. You can end up paying even less for these procedures if you have more than one dental plan.

  1. Through Your Spouse

    • If you work full time, you probably have a dental plan. The plan your company offers you may not cover all of your dental expenses, especially if you have children. If your plan doesn't cover enough of your expenses, you could benefit from dual coverage if your spouse has the option to add you to her plan.

    Through a Parent

    • If you are younger than 25, you can also benefit from your parent's dental plan. Both of your parents can add you to their plan, and you can benefit from dual coverage.

    On Your Own

    • If you don't mind more money being taken out of your paycheck, you can also opt to get multiple dental coverage on your own. If your employer doesn't offer a plan you are happy with, you can opt to get your own dental insurance, or purchase subsequent plans.
