Using the basic settings in the Volume Control utility, it's only possible to adjust balance and decibel level settings. By using the "Advanced Controls" option in the Volume Control utility, you can make fine adjustments to the audio.

  1. Access

Or double-click the speaker icon located in the system tray area of the taskbar. Select "Advanced Controls" from the "Options" menu. If the "Advanced Controls" option is grayed out, select "Properties" from the "Options" menu. Make sure there's a check mark next to each sound device source. Then check the "Advanced Controls" option again.

    Adjustment

    • Using the Advance Control settings it's possible to adjust the tone of the audio by moving the "Base" and "Treble" sliders to the preferred settings.

    Options

    • You may not have "Advance Control" options for every sound device source. This depends on if the feature is supported by the computer's sound card driver. A sound card driver is the application that facilitates communication between the sound card hardware installed in the computer and the computer's operating system.
