What Paint Color Goes With a Maroon Carpet?

Interior designers use the color wheel to determine what tones to use when decorating a room that has existing carpeting or furnishings. Maroon carpeting is dark, so lighter-colored walls would be preferable.

A neutral wall color such as beige or ivory works well with an existing maroon carpet.
